ENERCON to build a 50 million euro wind-turbine blade factory in Bergama, Izmir
German wind-turbine maker ENERCON has launched a 50 million euro investment for a new blade factory in Bergama, Izmir. The plant will supply both the Turkish and European markets and is expected to employ around 400 people. The investment marks a significant expansion of Turkey's renewable-energy equipment supply chain.

ENERCON has confirmed plans to build a wind-turbine blade factory in an industrial zone of Bergama, in Izmir province. The 50 million euro plant is designed to produce hundreds of blades per year once it is fully operational.
The facility will become one of the company's main hubs supplying next-generation turbines for Turkey's domestic market and project deliveries across Europe. ENERCON said a significant share of output will be exported. The plant is expected to create around 400 direct jobs.
The decision aligns with Turkey's strategy of reducing import dependence on renewable-energy equipment. It is seen as one of the steps that will raise the share of local content in the new offshore-wind zones being mapped under the candidate YEKA framework and in ongoing onshore projects.
